Tools

The hardware, apps and command line tools I use every day, plus the laptop covers I have collected stickers on.

Everything here is set up from my dotfiles, which install the lot in two scripts.

Workbench

MacBook M5
My daily driver, docked to an external display for most of the day.
Zed
My editor of choice. Quick to start, quiet by default, and pleasant to write CSS in.
Ghostty
Fast, GPU accelerated terminal, running Zsh with the Pure prompt.
Fork
Git client for the moments a visual diff beats the CLI.

Supporting apps

Raycast
Launcher, clipboard history, and snippets.
TablePlus
Database client for everyday queries.
Ray
Debugging without var_dump, mostly for PHP.
LocalSend
AirDrop that works across every device in the house.
Command X
Cut and paste files in Finder, the way it should have worked all along.
TextSniper
Grabs text out of anything on screen, images and video included.

Command line

mage
My own shortcuts for the Magento CLI.
gh & glab
GitHub and GitLab from the terminal.
ripgrep
Search that keeps up with a Magento codebase.
bat
cat with syntax highlighting.
jq
JSON wrangling in pipes.
ImageMagick
Batch resizing and converting, usually to WebP.

Laptop covers

Every laptop I own gets a hard cover, so the machine stays clean and the stickers stay mine. When the machine is replaced, the cover comes off and the next one starts empty.
